形態特徵
- Small evergreen trees, young branchlets glabrous or sparsely pubescent.
- Leaves thick chartaceous, ovate to oblong or rhombic-oblong, 3–5 cm long, 1.5–2.5 cm broad, apex acuminate, base broadly acute to nearly round, margin serrate, glabrous on both surfaces, nearly concolorous, midrib slightly raised on both surfaces, lateral veins 3 or 4 pairs, inconspicuous on both surfaces; petiole ca. 2 mm long, stout, slightly pubescent to glabrescent.
- Racemes in upper axils, glabrescent, 7 cm long; pedicel 5–8 mm long, somewhat curved; bracts leafy, 2–5 mm long, often persistent; calyx lobes triangular, glabrous; corolla campanulate-cylindric, 5–7 mm long, glabrous, shallowly 5-lobed; stamens 10, anthers spurred, filaments slender, flat, pilose at base.
- Fruit a globose berry, ca. 6 mm across.
分布
- 台灣 : 600–1,600 m, mostly near the coast.
- 世界 : The Ryukyus.
